Tall Paul's Friendship with Todd McFarlane

I had the fortunate opportunity to perform for sports fan/artist/toy industry trendsetter Todd McFarlane's recent surprise birthday party! One of my original songs has a very special significance to Todd and his wife and she asked me to be the surprise guest for his birthday celebration.

On my first afternoon there i got to meet rick, carmen, suzy, brent & boyd in design and got a cool tour of the office. I saw their grammy, emmys and one of the costumes from the spawn feature film and the biker jacket the clown wore in the film. That evening I made the surprise appearance and played for about 2 hours for Todd and his family, al and melanie simmons, terry fitzgerald & debra, paul & sheila, tiffany (todd's sister), james "her wife" and wanda's mom.

The next day Todd, one of his lovely daughters Cyan, kristie and I went to a cactus league game between the white sox and the brewers (sox won... big) then went to dinner with Todd, Wanda and Tiffany as a diversionary tactic so the folks from the office could decorate the house for yet another surprise party... this one bigger than the night before. the guests included friends from the office and from dreamworks. We also got to see action figures and video clips from the upcoming blockbuster animated feature Shrek . The pinata was a big hit (all puns intended) and I played a forty minute set to end the evening. it was a real treat for me to be such a special part of such a special event.
